row 4: [dc 2 in next st, 1 dc in next 2 sts] around (40dc) (now if only making a hat to fit 0-3m skip to row 8)
row 5: [dc 2 in next st, 1dc in next 3 sts] around (50dc) (skip to row 8 for 6m hat)

To Make Hair
For "bangs" cut 24 pices of yarn and make sure they are the length you want them to be when folded over in half
Insert Hook into same st as slst/tie off loop at center of yarn/hair piece pull through and make a square knot and then tie into a knot for tight hold do this in 12 sts 2 pieces of yarn in each st across edge of hat trim up if needed after all "bangs" are in

For pig tails cut 15 pieces of yarn and make sure they are the length you want them to be when folded over in half
use st markers to get an idea of were you want each "pig tail" to be pick out 4 or 5 st close together that you want to put your "pig tails" in (including the on your st marker is on and it doesn't have to be a dc it could be the top of another dc just as long as its all close together) and repeat the square knot and tie we did for the "bangs" in the sts you picked out

now to get the "pig tails" to stand up a bit ch 9 and dc into 4th ch from hook and down the rest of the sts (7dc) leave a long tail to sew into hat with (make two)
place your row of 7dc around base of "pig tail" and sew together around the pigtail and into hat tie off in the inside of the hat and weave in ends (do this for both "pig tails")

Finishing
I used pins to mock up my happy first before I sewed on all the pieces I suggest you do the same it helps make a better straighter product. Then just sew everything on and cut out eyes, nose, mouth, ear insides, tummy patch’ and wings in felt and glue on. Tie nap sack around Happys neck and your finished J I really hope you like it and happy crocheting J
