Granny's Spiked Cozy
Will Need/Need to Know
  • H-hook
  • Red Heart w/Love yarn in 2 colors
  • needle to sew in ends
  • ( ) holds needed info and number of stitches
  • [ ] repeat whats inside
  • turn work after every other row instead of every row
  • 1st ch 3 counts as dc
  • one size fits most beverages

Gauge
in double crochet 8 stitches x 4 rows = 2 inches

Abbreviations
st(s)- stitch(s)
sp- space
sk- skip
ch- chain
dc- double crochet
dc sp st- double crochet spike stitch

Cozy
  1. in color A, ch 32, join to 1st ch, ch 3(counts as dc here and through out), 1 dc in each of the next 2 sts, ch 1, sk next st, [1 dc in each of the next 3 sts, ch 1, sk next st] repeat around, join to 1st dc, tie off (24dc and 8 ch sp)
  2. join color B in any ch 1 sp, ch 3, dc spk st in middle dc of previous row, 1 dc in ch 1 sp, ch 1, sk 3 dc, [1 dc in next ch 1 sp, dc spk st in middle dc of previous row, 1 dc in ch 1 sp, ch 1, dk 3 dc] repeat around, join to 1st dc, tie off (16dc, 8dc sp st, 8 ch sp)
  3. join color A in any ch 1 sp, ch 3, dc spk st in middle dc of previous row, 1 dc in ch 1 sp, ch 1, sk 3 dc, [1 dc in next ch 1 sp, dc spk st in middle dc of previous row, 1 dc in ch 1 sp, ch 1, dk 3 dc] repeat around, join to 1st dc, tie off (16dc, 8dc sp st, 8 ch sp)
  • repeat rows 2 and 3, 2 more times, tie off
  • sew in ends and its ready for your favorite drink !

Granny Cowl 4 Pup - free pattern

Need/Need to Know
  • I hook
  • Red Heart w/Love yarn
  • needle to sew in ends
  • ( ) holds needed info and # of stitches
  • [ ] repeat whats inside
  • double crochet cluster = 3 double crochet in one space
  • sizes are xxs (xs, sm, md, lg) and appear in pattern as such
  • size measurements are approximately 9 (10, 12, 14, 16 inches)
  • please measure around your pup's head 1st to insure fit my sizes may differ then store bought items
  • color changes are not indicated in pattern you can change colors if you wish and in any way you want, or make it all one color, I changed color every other row

Gauge
in double crochet 7 stitchs x 4 rows = 2inches

Cowl
  1. ch 36,(40,48,56,64), join in 1st ch, ch 1 (does not count as sc), 1 sc in each st around, join to 1st sc (36,40,48,56,64sc)
  2. ch 3 (counts as dc), 1 dc in each of the next 2 sts, ch 1, skip next st, [1 dc in each of the next 3 sts, ch 1, sk next st] repeat around, join in 3rd ch of 1st 3 (9,10,12,14,16 dc c's & ch 1 sp's)
  3. sl st into next ch sp or turn, ch 3 (counts as dc), 2 dc in same ch sp, ch 1, sk 3 dc, [dc c in next ch sp, ch 1, sk 3 dc] repeat around, join in 1st dc (9,10,12,14,16 dc c's & ch 1 sp's)
  • xxs repeat round 3, 1 more time
  • xs repeat round 3, 2 more times
  • sm repeat round 3, 4 more times
  • md repeat round 3, 6 more times
  • lg repeat round 3, 8 more times
  1. starting in a ch sp, ch 1 (does not count as sc), [1 sc in ch sp, 1 sc in each of the next 3 dc] repeat around, join to 1st sc (36,40,48,56,64sc) tie off
  • now all you have to do is sew in all your ends and its done!
