Will Need/Need to Know
  • H-hook
  • Red Heart w/Love yarn in 2 colors
  • needle to sew in ends
  • ( ) holds needed info and number of stitches
  • [ ] repeat whats inside
  • turn work after every other row instead of every row
  • 1st ch 3 counts as dc
  • sizes are XS (S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL)  and appear in pattern as such

Gauge
in double crochet 8 stitches x 4 rows = 2 inches

Abbreviations
st(s)- stitch(s)
sc- single crochet
hdc- half double crochet
sp- space
sk- skip
ch- chain
dc- double crochet
dc sp st- double crochet spike stitch

Cowl
  1. in color A, ch 40(48,56,64,72,80,88,96,104), join to 1st ch, ch 3(counts as dc here and through out), 1 dc in each of the next 2 sts, ch 1, sk next st, [1 dc in each of the next 3 sts, ch 1, sk next st] repeat around, join to 1st dc, tie off
  2. join color B in any ch 1 sp, ch 3, dc spk st in middle dc of previous row, 1 dc in ch 1 sp, ch 1, sk 3 dc, [1 dc in next ch 1 sp, dc spk st in middle dc of previous row, 1 dc in ch 1 sp, ch 1, dk 3 dc] repeat around, join to 1st dc, tie off
  3. join color A in any ch 1 sp, ch 3, dc spk st in middle dc of previous row, 1 dc in ch 1 sp, ch 1, sk 3 dc, [1 dc in next ch 1 sp, dc spk st in middle dc of previous row, 1 dc in ch 1 sp, ch 1, dk 3 dc] repeat around, join to 1st dc, tie off
  • XS & S repeat rows 2 and 3, 2 more times
  • M & L repeat rows 2 and 3, 4 more times
  • XL & 2XL repeat rows 2 and 3, 5 more times
  • 3XL & 4XL repeat rows 2 and 3, 6 more times
  • 5XL repeat rows 2 and 3, 7 more times

  1. ch 1 (does not count as sc), [1 sc in each of the next 3 dc, 1 sc in ch sp] repeat around, join to 1st sc, tie off
  • now sew in your ends and go on to bow

Bone Bow
  1. ch 17, dc in 3rd ch from hook, and each st across, turn (15dc)
  2. ch 2 (does not count as dc), 1 dc in each st across, turn (15dc)
  3. repeat 2
  4. work on small side now, ch 2 (does not count as dc), 2 dc in side of dc, 2 dc, 1 sc, and 2 dc all in side of next dc, 2 dc in side of next dc, turn (8dc, 1sc)
  5. ch 1 (does not count as hdc), 1 hdc in 1st st, [2 dc in next st] repeat 2 more times, sc in next st, [2 dc in next st] repeat 2 more times, 1 hdc in next st, tie off (1sc, 2 hdc, 12 dc)
  6. flip over so other small side, connect yarn in corner of work and repeat rows 4, and 5, tie off
  • take whatever color yarn you would like for the middle of the bow and tie it to the bow and wrap the yarn around until you have a nice sized middle, tie off
  • sew bow to cowl, and sew in all ends, done and ready for you pup!
