Catnip Fishy - free pattern


Cat Nip Fish
Need/Need to Know
  • G- hook
  • caron simply soft yarn
  • needle to sew in ends
  • ( ) holds needed info and number of stitches
  • [ ] repeat whats inside
  • 1st chains do not count as 1st stitch

Gauge
9 stitches x 9 rows = 2 inches

Head and Body
  1. make a magic circle, ch 1, sc 5 times in circle, pull tight, join to 1st sc (5sc)
  2. ch 1, 2 sc in each st around, join to 1st sc (10sc)
  3. ch 1, [2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st] repeat around, join to 1st sc (15sc)
  4. ch 1, [1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st] repeat around, join in 1st sc (20sc)
  5. ch 1, [2 sc in next st, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sts] repeat around, join in 1st sc (25sc)

Back Fin

  8. line stitches of both fin ends together and sl st 2 sets of sts together, now we are going to ignore those 2 sl st's and go around both fin ends as they were one, ch 1, 1 sc in each st around, join to 1st sc (20sc)
  9. ch 2, dc dec across next 2 sts, 1 sc in each of the next 6 sts, [dc dec across next 2 sts] repeat 1 more time, 1 sc in each of the next 6 sts, dc dec across last 2 sts, join to 1st dc (16dc)
  10. ch 1, 1 sc in each of the next 4 sts, [sc dec across next 2 sts, 1 sc in each of the next 4 sts] repeat around, join in 1st sc, tie off (14sc)

  • when sewing this project together make sure to sew/tie everything really tight as this is for your pet and you don't want any lose strings they could eat
  • sew back fin on to fish
  • sew in all ends to back fin and head/body of fish
  • sew button to fish tail
  • sew fish tail half way on to fish head/body 
and your done its ready to be filled with cat nip and given to you fury friend!

Crochet Mouse Plush or Refillable Cat Nip Toy

Mouse Plush or Refillable Cat Nip Toy


I made this little guy because my cat loves loves loves cat nip, and all those cat nip toys get spendy! Also he doesn't seem to like any of the refillable toys our local (by local I mean 30 min away) Walmart. So I went to work on this cute mouse, and I am very happy with the results hope you are too! :)

Will Need/Need to Know
  • G hook
  • red heart super saver yarn
  • needle to sew in ends and sew together
  • fiber fill or cat nip
  • button (optional)
  • safety eyes (optional)
  • [ ] - repeat whats inside
  • 1st chain does not count as 1st stitch
  • magic circle can be replaced with a chain 2, then crocheting the number of stitches necessary in the 2nd chain from the hook

Abbreviations
ch- chain
st(s)- stitch(s)
sc- single crochet
dc- double crohet
hdc- half double corchet
trc- treble crochet
sc dec- single crochet
sl st- slip stitch

Gauge 8 sitches by 4 rows= 2in

Assembly
  • before we go on please remember if this item is for a child or a cat to securely sew/attach all pieces tightly
  • attach or sew on eyes on flat part of head
  • attach ears to either side of the head
  • attach nose to tip of muzzle
  • stuff head and body with fiber fill if for plush
  • if for plush sew head to body and sew in all ends and your done enjoy, if for cat nip toy go on
  • on opening in head connect by muzzle ch 4, sl st back into same st button hole made
  • sew button to bottom of body by opening
  • sew top half of head to body and leave a small opening for putting cat nip in like in picture at bottom
  • sew in all ends
