Crochet Frankenstein Headband -Free Pattern

Frankenstein Headband

I made this pattern because the kids just loved the Frankenstein outfits I have been making for my pups, so I had to come up with something for them too. This is what I came up with the Frankenstein Headband! I quickly whipped up a headband, and took a bit of time coming up with a smaller and simple version of the bolts, it was done! I decided to make it a headband for the girls, and it was a big hit!(not sure on what I'll make for the boys) They call it Frankie's headband from Monster High (they have been over the moon about these dolls for some time now), so I'm glad they like it whatever they call it :) . Hope you all like it as much as the kids do!

Need/Need to Know

• beginning ch does not count as 1^st st
• ( ) holds the number of stitches made and other need to know info
• [ ] repeat whats inside

• H- hook
• caron simply soft in green, gray and black
• needle for sewing in ends
• you will need to know how to make a spike stitch

Abbreviations

ch- chain

sc- single crochet

st(s)- stitch(s)

sp(s)- space(s)

hdc- half double crochet

dc- double crochet

spk st- spike st

dc dec- double crochet decrease

Gauge

in hdc 8sts X 4 rows = 2in

1. ch 9, hdc in 2^nd ch from hook, and each st across, turn (8hdc)
2. ch 2, hdc in each st across, turn (8hdc)

• repeat row 2, 4 more times, tie off

Headband

1. in green, ch 46, hdc in 2^nd ch from hook, and each st across, turn (45hdc)
2. ch 2, hdc in each st across, turn (45hdc)
3. repeat row 2
4. repeat row 2, change to black
5. ch 1, sc in 1^st st, [spk st back down to row 4 for next st, spk st back down to row 3 for next st, spk st back down to row 4 for next st, sc in next st] repeat around, tie off (45sts)
6. flip over to bottom, connect black to 1^st ch, ch 1, sc in 1^st st, [spk st down to row 2 for next st, spk st down to row 3 for next st, spk st down to row 2 for next st, sc in next st] repeat around, turn work on its side (45sts)
7. ch 2, dc 6 times evenly in side of work, turn (6dc)
8. ch 2, dc in each st across, turn (6dc)
9. ch 2, dc dec across next 2 sts, 1 dc in each of the next 2 sts, dc dec across last 2 sts, turn (4dc)
10. ch 2, dc in each st across, turn (4dc)

• repeat row 10 as many times as needed to make length, take into account that there will be 3 more rows before we finish off, also if you need help on sizing there is a sizing chart linked at the bottom

11. ch 2, 2 dc in next st, 1 dc in each of the next 2 sts, 2 dc in next st, turn (6dc)

12. ch 2, dc in each st across, turn (6dc)
13. repeat row 12

• now you can either sl st to the other side of the headband to complete or tie off and sew to the other end to complete, and don't forget to sew in your ends

Top of Bolt make 2, in gray

1. make a magic circle, sc 6 times in magic circle, pull tight, join to 1^st sc (6sc)
2. ch 1, 2 sc in each st around, join in 1^st sc, tie off (12sc)

Bottom of Bolt make 2, in gray

1. ch 2, 4 sc in 2^nd ch from hook, join to 1^st sc (4sc)
2. ch 1, sc in each st around, join to 1^st sc (4sc)

• repeat row 2, 2 more times, tie off
• sew bottom of bolt to middle of top of bolt and sew bolts to sides of headband
• sew in last ends and your finished! Enjoy :)

I made this because I have been thinking about Halloween. It's just behind the corner! I have a ton of costume ideas and have not been able to settle on one. Until I saw this beautiful scoodie someone had posted in one of the groups I follow and I immediately started thinking about a Frankenstein version would be super cute but I'm not one to dress up so I then started thinking about how I could make it for my pup and the Frankenstein cowl was born. Hope you enjoy!

Will Need/Need to Know

• I hook
• G hook
• Caron Simply soft in green (I use pistachio), black, and gray
• needle to sew in end and make stitches
• 1^st chain(s) do not count a 1^st stitch
• don not turn unless stated
• [ ] repeat instructions inside [ ]
• magic circle can be replaced with a chain 2, and then crocheting into the 2^nd chain from the hook
• sizes may very from every day pet stores please measure your pup and make accordingly
• sizes are XXS(XS,S,M,L,XL) and appear in pattern as so
• finished measurements are 10in(12,14,16.18,20) around

Gauge

in double crochet 8 stitches X 4 rows = 2in

1. ch 10, dc in 2^nd ch from hook and each st across, turn (8dc)
2. ch 2, dc in each st across, turn (8dc)

• repeat row 2, 2 more times, tie off
• you now have a 2in X 2in square

Crochet Infinity Scarf for Pup- Free Pattern 5 sizes

Infinity Scarf for Pup

Does your pup like to by stylish? Mine does so I made this infinity scarf for her so she could wear something pretty whenever wherever, and I think I pulled it off. Also don't worry there is instructions on how to make it safe for you pup. Hope you like it as much as my pup does!

Sizes

• xxs- xs = 12in
• sm = 14in
• med = 16in
• lrg = 18in
• in pattern XXS & XS are the same and stitch count changes will appear like this XS(SM, MED, LRG) XS being the same as XXS

Need/ Need to know

• J hook
• 2 colors red heart super saver
• sewing needle to sew in ends
• 1^st chain does not count as 1^st stitch

Gauge

in hdc 7 stiches x 4 rows = 2in

Scarf

Assembly

1^st you want to lay out your infinity scarf like an upside down breast cancer ribbon like shown in the picture below

next you want to take your two lose ends and place them together like the photo below

and sew those two ends together, now fold it into the infinity scarf and to make it safe for your pup so they don't step on the one end and tighten the other and in turn choke themselves we are going to sew the back together as shown in picture below

sew in all your ends and your finished! Hope your pup enjoys and happy hooking!

I made this pattern after brain storming things for more of the rocker type person, and came up with making devil / rock on horns. I just fell in love with the idea and went to work making a hand that i then turned into a granny square. I realized very fast this was so much more then the devil horn it started out to be and it really was so much more! I hope you have fun making all the different hand gestures you can make with it not to mention sign language signs!

Will Need/Need to Know

• G hook
• I hook
• red heart super saver yarn 2 colors
• 1^st chain does not count as 1^st stitch
• [ ] repeat whats inside
• * * repeat all inside when told repeat * * how every many times stated
• we will be working the hand 1^st then turning the hand into a granny so if you just want a hand applique you can
• Gauge= 9 stitches X 10 rows of single crochet= 2in

Palm G hook

3-14. repeat 2

Fingers G hook

• each finger is made separately by 3 sts each and skipping 1 st in between
• flip work over to top of hand and connect yarn in 1^st ch

so lets start and remember to skip one stitch before making each new finger after the first :)

1. ch 1, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sts, turn (3sc)
2. ch 1, sc in each st across, turn (3sc)

• pinky finger repeat row 2, 9 more times
• ring and pointer finger repeat row 2, 11 more times
• middle finger repeat row 2, 13 more times

3. ch 1, sc dec all 3 sts together, tie off (1sc)

Thumb G hook

• flip hand back over to bottom of hand, connect yarn in opposite side of where we tied off at in the turning chain, as shown in picture, and turn wok to the side, we will now be crocheting into the side of the work

1. ch 2, dc in next st, hdc in next st, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sts, turn (3sc,1hdc,1dc)
2. ch 1, 2 sc in 1^st st, sc in next st, hdc in next st, sc dec across last 2 sts, turn (4sc,1hdc)
3. ch 2, dc dec across 1^st 2 sts, hdc in next st, 1 sc in each of the last 2 sts, turn (2sc,1hdc,1dc)
4. ch 1, 2 sc in 1^st st, sc in next st, sc dec across last 2 sts, turn (4sc)

Granny I hook

• now we are going to be making the spots to crochet into to turn this into a granny square, connect yarn in corner of hand by edge, and sl st 9 times on each side of the hand like as shown in picture,
  
  tie off and sew in those ends careful not to not sew into the sl st's we just made now connect yarn in corner sl st as shown in next picture

1. ch 2, dc in same st, 1 dc in each of the next 2 sts, [ch 1, 1 dc in each of the next 3 sts] repeat 1 more time, ch 2 *1 dc in each of the next 3 sts, [ch1, 1 dc in each of the next 3 sts] repeat 1 more time, ch 2*, repeat * * 2 more times, turn

2. ch 2, *3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc all in same ch 2 sp (corner), [ch 1, 3 dc in next ch sp] repeat 1 more time, ch 1* repeat * * 3 more times

now just keep working the granny square as big as you want it! I made mine 5 rows big

Finishing

all you have to do to finish this granny is place your fingers and thumb in any hand gesture or sign language sign you want and sew fingers into place and sew in the last of your ends and its done and ready to be added to whatever master piece you have in mind! Happy hooking!
